Books
Goodnight Moon
Margaret Wise Brown’s board book. In a great green room, a little bunny says goodnight to the moon, the clocks and the socks, and everything else in the softly lit room.
The Rabbit Who Wants to Fall Asleep
Carl-Johan Forssén Ehrlin’s story, published by Ladybird. Roger the rabbit visits Uncle Yawn, and the slow, repeating language is written to help a child relax and fall asleep.
Guess How Much I Love You: Here I Am
Sam McBratney and Anita Jeram’s hide-and-seek board book, with a Little Nutbrown Hare finger puppet. A classic about a love too big to measure, for reading together at bedtime.
Audiobooks
The Rabbit Who Wants to Fall Asleep
The unabridged Penguin audiobook, read by Rachel Bavidge and Roy McMillan, with a choice of narrator. About an hour long, for the same sleep-inducing story as the book.
Bedtime Stories for Children
James Prince Doddler’s Audible collection of short tales about friendship, patience and kindness, including quieter stories meant to help a child wind down. Narrated by Shelley Episcopo.
Night lamps
Uni-Com plug-in night light
A small plug-in night light with a dusk-to-dawn sensor and long-life LEDs. It gives a soft light for a child’s room, a hallway or the stairs, and switches itself off in the morning.
Ceiling projectors
URAQT star light projector
A children’s night light with six projection themes, including a starry sky, eight pieces of sleep music, a remote and a 15 or 30 minute timer. It rotates 360°, or closes into a quiet lamp.
DQMOON star projector night light
A mushroom-shaped projector for ages 2–9, with a remote, a timer and 360° rotating stars and moons. Amazon lists a warm-light mode and colour-changing effects for a calm bedroom.
OneFire night light projector
A kids’ projector with 15 films, 15 soothing sounds, seven colours, a remote, a timer and 360° rotation. Amazon describes it as a bedtime light that can be used without a cable once charged.
