Privacy

A quiet site, with very little kept.

Moonlit Nook is published by Upcott Studios. Questions about this policy go to [email protected].

No accounts, and nothing we ask a child to type

There is no sign-in and no profile. We do not ask for a child’s name, age, school, photo or location. The age range and subject on the home page are choices for this visit. An optional detail, if a parent types one, is used only to write that story and is not stored as a record about a person.

Stories and narration

When you ask for a new story, the age, subject and any gentle detail are sent to an AI service so the tale can be written. When you press play, the story text is sent so it can be spoken. That is the point of the request. We do not build a file on a child from it. Ready-made stories live on the site and do not need that step.

What stays in the browser

Voice, playback speed and whether stories should continue on their own are saved in this browser so the next visit starts the same way. A newly written story is kept in this browser for the session so you can come back to it. Clearing site data removes those.

Visit count

The home page shows a small visit count. It is one number for the site, not a list of people. A visit is counted once per browser session. We do not attach a name or an account to it.

Advertising

Pages include Google AdSense so the site can show adverts. Google may use cookies to measure and, where the law allows, to choose adverts. You can control personalised advertising in your Google ad settings and in the browser. We do not sell a mailing list, because we do not have one.

Shop links

The shop links to Amazon. If you buy something, Upcott Studios may earn a commission. Amazon handles that checkout, including any account or payment details. We do not see them. See the shop for the affiliate notice.

Children

Moonlit Nook is for parents to use with children. It is not directed at collecting personal information from a child. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email [email protected] and we will delete what we can find.
